Can't wait for OpenAI to have access to my phone: Musk

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has expressed concerns about the collaboration between Apple and OpenAI, particularly regarding the integration of ChatGPT with iPhones. Musk has suggested that OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, may eventually have access to his phone.

Musk’s reaction comes in light of reports that OpenAI has appointed Paul Nakasone, a former commander of US Cyber Command and director of the NSA, to its board of directors. The Tesla and SpaceX CEO is wary of the potential implications of this appointment.

“Can’t wait for OpenAI to have access to my phone,” Musk commented on X social media platform.

Nakasone, upon joining OpenAI, emphasized his role in safeguarding the company against various security threats posed by malicious actors.

As part of OpenAI’s efforts to enhance safety and security, Nakasone will also be involved in the newly formed safety and security committee.

In response to concerns about ChatGPT integration on iPhones, Musk threatened to prohibit the use of iPhones across all his companies. He outlined that if Apple were to integrate OpenAI at the OS level, it would be considered a breach of security standards and result in a ban on Apple devices.

Musk further stated that individuals visiting his companies would be required to surrender their Apple devices at the entrance, where they would be securely stored in a Faraday cage.

Additionally, Musk hinted at potential collaboration with Samsung to develop an X phone as an alternative to Apple devices.
