чел ты из какой страны? с въетнама?
why im sad IT a good day
1:32 Sort of agree, but this technique is good to force you to observe the reference and consider negative/positive space.
15:26 watching this while drawing ✌️
im only an art child but i am a worldbuilder and tbh putting stuff like ears and arms on a separate layer sounds like it could be useful for specbio.
I draw stars like you. That video threw me off so bad XD
me, who likes drawing hands: 😳
12:35 i start my stars from the bottom as well c:
from the bottom right though; maybe bc i'm left-handed
jokes on you I do like to draw hands!
6:25 genuinely thought Sam was having a mental breakdown
You said to leave and go draw… but no, I'm staying here. (I'm drawing while I watch art tip videos..)
But⁉️
Sam, I draw my stars the exact same way. ( maybe we're both weird. )
7:19 some people like to draw furries >:D
I realized why i like binging these videos with this one. Not only does this help provide good art advice, it also helps teach people how to not fall for bad advice.
Don’t worry Sam I draw stars like you as well
But I like to draw hands… Thats actually all I drew while doodling in boring classes
i fr needed that boost of motivation at the end to get out of my art slump thank you sam
My eyes are indeed on a seperate layer… This is how I get up to 200 layers
I miss the time I used a maximum of 10 layers in my drawing, using folders destroyed me. Now I can make 50 layers and add it in one folder to make it take up less space + extremely easy to edit.
The problem is just finding whatever the fuck you need, and trying to figure out if this layer that LOOKS like it's blank is actually blank or if it has a small important detail…
I need help this is getting out of hand I don't need 5 layers to draw EYES.
12:38 i start from the bottom right..and then top left then right then bottom left and then finish. am i weird?
This man would be horrified by the number of layers I use. Listen, I prefer the eraser over undo, okay? That's what layer groups are for. I have a sketch group, a painting group, etc. Don't call me out like this 🤣🥲
Only time I used the grid method is when I wanted to enlarge an existing drawing I did and didn’t have time to work everything out all over again (and I was too broke to get a projector lol).
I think the grid can be really helpful translating a sketch to the final paper, and keeping track of smaller elements within the piece itself. I did a rendition of the “fall of the rebel angels” and the grid helped make sure that nothing became too squished in what is a really chaotic image. That being said, the grid is no substitute for having an eye for proportions and flow in an artwork
and for the star i start from the bottom right corner
i will draw one really good thing and then im not able to ever draw it as good again
I loved his ending scene today. Great message Sam! 👏
5:51 KNY SCENCE?😍😍😍
Tradition artists: … Really?
15:15 little do you know, Mr. Samdoesart, that I'm watching your art tips WHILE drawing.
15:20 – me drawing while listening to this 0-0
Tracing IS cheating if you’re doing that and thinking you’re an artist you are NOT. She sounds like a Karin ngl it is 2024 tracing is STILL “cheating” rather she likes it or not!!!
i draw that kind of star the same way as you. in my art though i draw stars without that trick because i like them looking round and imperfect and wobbly
ahm I'm crocheting while watching hehehe I'll draw later.
“Select your line art layer…”
Me who only uses one layer for sketches and lineart: 👁️👄👁️
Start my star from the top ⭐
Except I was drawing when you said, "Grab a pen and start drawing." I like listening to your tips while drawing so I can learn while I do my drawings otherwise, I will forget once I actually draw.
Me who puts head shape, hair, facial features and yes, EARS, in separate layers while sketching because I tend to shift them around and erase a lot and don't like disturbing the things underneath/around that I've already settled on….
Ive actually started only drawing with a pen because of sam, ive gotten so good with it and my arts improved too
Bro I didn't even know about the reference thing in ibis paint x (am in ibis paint x user for digital art) I always put my reference on the canvas and started drawing man wtf-
Ibis is older than Procreate
I hated grid art in school. Looking back, my art teacher was just lazy in teaching us, and I actually was in class to learn, and he was there to chill.
horizontal line first for star!!
5:28 it’s giving Atsushi(im sorry)
5:13 I needed this
Layers are pretty helpful for animating
Hands and feet make me want to die.
i put the hair on a seperate layer bc i cant draw hair and if i draw it on the same layer it destroys my whole sketch…
I only know about one person who liked to draw hands, Walter Sickert, and he may have been Jack the Ripper.
Tracing should be used mainly for studying
I also start from the bottom left corner for stars like that. I can't do it from the top. It messes with my brain
