Best Pieces of Art Advice from TikTok

By: [Your Name]

In this video, I want to share with you some of the best pieces of art advice that I found on TikTok. These tips are ones that I can get behind, and I truly believe they will help you out, especially if you’re just starting out in the world of art. So, let’s dive right in!

First off, let’s talk about a common mistake that many artists make – zooming in too much on their work. It’s easy to get fixated on small details, but sometimes when you zoom out, those details are lost. Remember, most people will view your work on a small screen, so focus on what will be visible to them.

Secondly, studying from art books is invaluable. You can learn so much about different styles and processes by looking at the work of other artists. Behind-the-scenes books and collections of art can provide you with a wealth of knowledge that you won’t find online.

Next, I encourage you to revisit old artwork and redraw it. This is a great way to see how far you’ve come in your artistic journey and can be a fun and eye-opening experience.

Improving your drawing skills through repetition and drawing from life can make a huge difference in your art. Practice sketching from different angles and environments, and you’ll see progress over time.

Sketchbooks are essential for any artist. They provide a space for you to express yourself freely and can help you build consistency in your practice. Don’t be afraid to start with a simple pencil and paper – the tools don’t make the artist.

When it comes to rendering shadows, consider blocking them in as hard edges and then using a smudge tool to soften them. This can create a more realistic and convincing look than relying solely on an airbrush tool.

Understanding perspective is crucial for drawing backgrounds and objects in space. Practice drawing from different angles and studying how objects appear in three-dimensional space.

Remember, expensive supplies don’t make a great artist. Focus on developing your skills and honing your craft, regardless of the tools you have at your disposal.

If you’re in an art block, try picking an object, turning down the opacity, and exploring different shapes and versions. This can be a fun and creative exercise to help get your creative juices flowing.

Lastly, don’t be too hard on yourself. Every artist is constantly learning and growing. Embrace your mistakes and use them as opportunities to improve and evolve as an artist.

I hope you found these art tips helpful and inspiring. Remember, art is a journey, and the most important thing is to keep creating and learning along the way. Thanks for watching!

  1. 3:46 I think that this is such an amazing tip, and the fact that yesterday I redrew a drawing from April 2022 and I had developed so much made me realize how trash at art i was then- But seriously, if you don't know what to draw and you have art block, find some of your old pieces and redraw them, if that doesn't help, i don't know what will <3 :)))

  2. Just a little reminder: you know what artist also heard he sucked at art? Vincent Van Gogh he has his own museum now 💅🏻 I think he didn’t suck as much as people around him claimed him to be

  3. Honestly, I was having a real art crisis until now because I wanna go to a school for art but I’m afraid I’m not good enough. I’ve been telling myself subconsciously „everything is so difficult and I feel like I’m not improving at all!“ but watching your videos is giving me the strength to stop talking shit and trying to calm down. I love your videos man

  4. I agree with most everything here but I will say "kids art supplies" i think actually discourage/inhibit creativity of children due to their low quality. So yes art supplies dont create great art on their own – I do think there is a big issue with supplies targetted at children and young students.

  5. I cant draw digitaly, but traditionaly i find that perspective really does help especially when your drawing people. If the perspective is off its going to look like an alien, or just off in general.

  6. look at your favorite artists: WLOP, GUWEIZ – you god damn right!
эти ребята гениальны. очень хочется новый выпуск how to become an art god hehe
