In recent years, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has become known for flashy product launches that often do not actually make it to market. However, the roots of CES lie in retail stores previewing upcoming products to determine what to stock on their shelves. CES 2024 did not disappoint, with real product launches and strong pitches for recently released tech gadgets.

ZDNET has posted its editor’s pick for best of show. Below are five products that stood out to me at CES 2024.

1. Roborock Flexi Pro: Roborock’s quality robot vacuums impressed me, especially after hearing the company’s president’s story of persistence. The Roborock Flexi Pro, a smart, upright, wet/dry vacuum, caught my eye with its beautiful design. It’s a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop, self-cleaning, and boasts 17,000Pa of suction power. The price and release date are still to be announced.

2. Ecobee Smart Doorbell Camera: Ecobee’s late entrance into the smart doorbell market impressed me with its 175-degree field of view, which overcomes a common problem with competing products. The doorbell can integrate with the Ecobee thermostat and retails for $160.

3. Samsung S95D OLED TV: Announced at CES 2024, this TV comes with a glare-free screen, solving a common problem with OLED TVs. The product boasts excellent picture quality, making it a top contender for my next TV purchase.

4. Vasco Translator E1: This product offers real-time translation of 49 languages and will be available in Q2 2024. Though there are competing products on the market, I find Vasco’s offering more appealing due to its broad range of covered languages.

5. Oclean X Ultra S smart toothbrush: Equipped with a display, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a bone-conducting speaker, this smart toothbrush impressed me and may just convince me to make the switch from my old electric brush.

Overall, CES 2024 showcased a variety of impressive products that left a lasting impression.
