Apple’s iPhone 16 to Come with Major Upgrades
According to a new report from Taiwanese site Economic Daily News, Apple’s next-generation A18 chips for mobile and M4 chips for Mac will likely feature an upgraded neural engine with significantly more AI cores. This upgrade aligns with Tim Cook’s promise of huge AI announcements. Recent reports also indicate that Apple will be launching a suite of generative features as part of iOS 18, most likely at WWDC in June. Apple’s silicon standard neural engine has had 16 cores since the iPhone 12, but certain configurations of Mac Studio and Mac Pro have had neural engines with up to 32 cores.
Apple Introduces Quantum-Proof Encryption in iMessage
Apple is currently rolling out Quantum-proof encryption protection in iMessage, calling it the most significant cryptographic security upgrade in iMessage history. This is a preventative measure to keep users safe from future hacking attempts. Apple also released a patch for a bug that could potentially leave your phone vulnerable.
European Commission Investigates TikTok and Apple
The European Commission has launched a formal investigation into whether TikTok is compliant with the Digital Services Act, particularly in terms of protecting minors and potential addictive design features. TikTok will be the second platform investigated under the DSA, following Twitter. Additionally, Apple might face a fine of around 500 million EUR next month following an antitrust probe related to Spotify’s complaint against Apple’s preferential treatment of its music streaming service.
Google Introduces Lightweight AI Models

They're not wrong protecting with next gen encryption. At the moment ppls are hoarding date from various sources such as banks to be able to read them later when we have to quantum computers to decode the keys.
The new iMessage encryption is likely more about preventing Android users from getting back on iMessage again.
