CES 2024: A Glimpse into Our AI-Driven Dystopian Future
Last week I had the opportunity to attend the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, and let me tell you, the future is here. The big theme at CES this year was artificial intelligence, and it seems like AI is taking over almost every aspect of our lives. From smart toilets to driverless tractors, it’s clear that we are moving towards a future where AI will play a significant role in shaping our day-to-day activities.
One of the standout products at CES was the AI powered smart toilet from Coler. This state-of-the-art toilet comes with heated seats, ambient lighting, and emergency flushing capabilities for power outages during the apocalypse. However, the standout feature was the eye-watering $88,500 price tag. While the idea of a luxury toilet with AI features is intriguing, the cost seems excessive.
The AI revolution was evident throughout CES, with various companies showcasing their latest AI-driven innovations. It seems that traditional programming languages like C++ and Python are making way for natural language programming. At the keynote, it was implied that the coding language of the next decade will be centered around natural language. It’s a fascinating idea, but the reality is that the innovations showcased at CES are still built using traditional programming languages and coded by humans. However, there’s no denying that AI is beginning to disrupt various industries, putting careers like professional bird watchers and tractor operators at risk.
The advent of AI-powered binoculars that can automatically identify birds have put professional bird watchers on notice. Similarly, with the introduction of driverless tractors, traditional tractor operators might find themselves out of work in the near future. The rise of AI-driven innovations is redefining the job landscape, and it’s essential to adapt to these changes to remain relevant in the workforce.
Another exciting development at CES was the introduction of AI-powered exoskeletons. These exoskeletons are equipped with AI technology that can enhance human capabilities, allowing individuals to run faster, jump higher, and carry out physically demanding tasks efficiently. While the militaristic connotation of these exoskeletons is undeniable, the potential applications in enhancing productivity and physical capabilities for various industries cannot be overlooked.
The theme of sustainability and environmental conservation did not go unnoticed at CES. With the looming threat of climate change, discussions around electric vehicles and environmental conservation dominated several conversations. Mercedes unveiled a new all-electric G-Wagon, while lesser-known brands showcased their electric vehicle offerings. However, there are concerns about the environmental impact of electric vehicles, especially in a world with an increasing human population and excessive consumption patterns.
One groundbreaking product that caught my attention was the Samsung Bali robot. This AI-powered robot serves as a cute and efficient alternative to pets like cats and dogs. Equipped with a built-in projector, Bali can play videos on any wall and act as a security bot, ensuring the safety of your home when you’re away. Such innovations signify the potential of AI to revolutionize everyday experiences and provide alternatives to traditional practices.
The headline act at CES was the Rabbit R1, a handheld AI assistant that aims to revolutionize how we interact with technology. The Rabbit R1 connects to the apps on your phone, allowing you to control them using natural language. It claims to make UI obsolete, opening up a new era of seamless human-AI interactions. However, with the growing prominence of voice-controlled technologies, concerns about privacy and security surfaces.
CES 2024 was nothing short of overwhelming, with a multitude of mind-boggling innovations on display. From a toothbrush that can clean your teeth in 10 seconds to a flying air taxi, transparent TVs, and a smart lamp that watches over you, the scope of AI-driven advancements is vast and far-reaching. It’s exciting to witness the technological advancements, but it’s also a reminder of the responsibility we have in shaping the future of AI and its impact on our lives.
As we navigate an AI-driven future, it’s imperative to question the implications of these technologies on our society, economy, and environment. While AI presents incredible opportunities for innovation and efficiency, it also brings forth challenges and requires a mindful, ethical, and regulated approach to its development and deployment.
CES 2024 offered a glimpse into our AI-driven future, and it’s up to us to shape it responsibly and thoughtfully. As we move forward, it’s essential to seek a balance between embracing AI innovations and addressing the potential social, ethical, and environmental implications they bring. The road ahead may be filled with opportunities and challenges, but it’s crucial to approach the AI revolution with a keen understanding of its potential impact and consequences.
In conclusion, CES 2024 was an eye-opening experience, and it’s evident that we are hurtling towards a future where AI innovation will shape every aspect of our lives. The time has come for us to embrace the AI revolution responsibly and proactively to ensure a sustainable and equitable future for all. From smart toilets to AI-powered robotics, CES 2024 showcased the potential of AI to transform the world as we know it. As we step into this AI-driven dystopian future, let’s navigate it with mindfulness, curiosity, and a commitment to shaping a future that benefits humanity as a whole.
Al gore 😂😂😂😂
I'm sure we will soon see an A.I exoskeleton that takes you to the gym and workouts for you.
Man 10sec toothbrush. That could be the most useful thing
LOL This robot voiced and most likely AI written, is a good example of the warnings here. I now down vote any video using a robotic voice. One response said HE was the speaker but used special spftwaree to "eliminate pauses". I replied that English speakers usually pause at the end of a sentence instead of "The future is both frightening and optimistic. That depends on your viewspoint. Some have a negative…." Many times it's so fast it wouldbewrittenasonelongstring.
Well well well, if it isn't manmade horrors beyond my comprehension.
About to use AI to discover that fopping device.
Whats the point of living anymore. Its so dogshit because these engineers are progressing so fast but the entire infrastructure to support it isn't. Soon AI will evolve like the monkeys did into humans and will take over.
U funny
lots of solutions looking for problems
the problem with Rabbit R1 for me is that It's built upon the premise that I would like to interact with apps the way I talk to people. I would rather not talk to people
Any cool AI robot will not be accepted by society because of cost, hiring someone is anyways cheaper. Drivers/househelp etc
The main problem in our world is that people are no longer getting punched in the face. You can literally talk bs at CES, and it is somewhat acceptable.
Is this an AI voice narrating? I hope so. Am I the only person worrying about this prevalence of dead, monotone human voices everywhere talking about AI?

I will buy all those useless crap when I get some $$$😅 why can't AI earn some $s so I can😂
What’s the alt to Rabbit?
The reason why so many people are making electric vehicles is because there's no consumer protections for data Telemetry on vehicles, because it's not technically a smartphone or a computer, but it's not really a normal vehicle either because it's mostly electronic, so it's actually still technically an illegal gray area until we have more consumer protections😅
Is the reason why so many people are jumping to electric vehicles is because as soon as someone buys those, the amount of money that they make on Telemetry from the data being sold from all of the stuff being trapped inside your vehicle is a metric crap ton of money, those companies are not making that a loss, they know exactly what they're doing
CES never fails to amaze with its showcase of cutting-edge tech, from smart toilets to electric vehicles and everything in between. It's exciting to see how these innovations will shape the future, but also important to critically assess their implications on society, economy, and the environment.
Come baaaack
CES looks like a bad version of a brookstone store in a smaller mall circa 2004 but now the wine chillers and massage chairs have AI for…reasons
next we need condoms for robots?
lmfaooooooo terrible
Is the Sandevistan going to be real?
Why do you kinda sound like NTTS

Great job hefe. Having kids > using pets to try to fill barren void.
Nice!
OCAML video pleaseeeeeee
I would say the only technology that I saw someone highlight for CES that I can imagine being in every home in the next 5-10 years is QD-OLED displays. At least for TV. No idea on the refresh rate when it comes to gaming and such. I'm sure it will get to the gold standard of 144hz eventually though.
Bro, where are you???
