Artificial intelligence’s effectiveness hinges on the quality of the prompts it receives, and with this in mind, Google Arts & Culture created a game called Say What You See to empower users to generate better-quality prompts. Ultimately, this game will enhance the performance of Google’s own AI engine, as well as users’ ability to get results that align with their intended results.

The experiment starts users off at Level 1, which invites them to describe relevant information about an image, including the medium, subject and context. These prompts of up to 120 characters become increasingly complex as the levels progress, and users will be scored based on the precise language they use. Say What You See also helps to provide tops and hints, so that users are guided on their journey to get a better score.
