Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup, has unveiled its latest AI model, which it claims is its fastest and most advanced yet, positioning itself in competition with OpenAI.
Named Claude 3.5 Sonnet, this new model is an upgraded version of Anthropic’s previous release, the Claude 3 model, which was launched in March. According to the company, this latest model — the technology behind their popular chatbot Claude — is twice as fast as its predecessor. Anthropic also stated that in their assessments, the model surpasses other leading competitors like OpenAI in various key intelligence capabilities, such as coding and text-based reasoning.
“We are thrilled because, according to our evaluations and benchmarks, this is now the top-ranking and most intelligent model in the industry,” Daniela Amodei, co-founder and president of Anthropic, shared in an interview. “Our goal is for this model to become the preferred choice for enterprise businesses across all areas.”
