AI Art Generators: A Comprehensive Ranking
The Best AI Art Generators on the Internet
AI art generators have been all over the Internet lately and for good reason. They can be really useful and they’re actually a lot of fun. But not all of them are created equal and this can make it really hard especially now that Midjourney removed their free trial.
The Top Tier: Midjourney V5
So if you ever wondered what other alternatives are actually out there and which ones of those are actually useful, you’re in the right place because now I’m going to show you a ranking of my favorite AI art generators and a bunch of examples to help you decide.
So let’s get started from the top by looking at the very best ones first. And as you might already know, the best one right now is Midjourney V5 and now 5.1 is even better so that’s why it’s S tier. And if you’re not familiar with these tier lists, it’s very simple. This is similar to grading with school with S tier being just perfect. So down here F is the worst and S tier is the best.
The reason Midjourney is the best is because it’s very aesthetic and they manage to fix the issue with human hands. They mostly fix teeth, bodies, and human faces and they’re also the best at generating photorealistic images. Most people that use AI art extensively would agree that Midjourney is King right now.
The A Tier: Dali 2, Night Cafe Art Studio, Leonardo.ai
Now let’s talk about the A tier category here we have Dali 2, Night Cafe Art Studio, and Leonardo.ai. All three of these are very different so let’s talk through them one by one.
Dali 2 is a model created by OpenAI and it’s particularly interesting because it’s actually based upon a custom model. Dali and now Dali 2 is different because they build their model, unlike most other models which are based upon stable diffusion. Dali 2 is great for generating cartoonish or abstract images but falls short when it comes to generating photorealistic images of human faces.
Night Cafe Art Studio is user-friendly and offers presets, competitions, and quality examples to get inspired by. It’s great for generating high-quality images but, like Dali 2, struggles with humans in the images.
Leonardo.ai is free-ish and provides 150 credits a day for users to generate images. It offers various models to pick from, some of which are quite good with humans in the images. It also allows users to fine-tune their own models for better results.
Wire Stock: Make Money Selling AI-Generated Art
If you’re interested in making some extra money on the side with your AI art generations, consider using Wire Stock. It allows you to sell your AI-generated art on major stock marketplaces with ease. With Wire Stock, you get 85% of the earnings when your images are sold on platforms like Adobe Stock, Pond5, and Depositphotos. It’s a great way to monetize your creative work.
The B Tier and Below
The B tier includes Dreamline Art, Deep Dream Generator, and Stability AI, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Dreamline Art is great for beginners, Stability AI offers a fun Dream Studio app for generating visuals, and Deep Dream Generator provides artsy results but at a cost.
Further down the list are apps like Canva Image Generator, Runway, and Crayon, each with their own limitations. Some are beginner-friendly, while others struggle with certain types of images.
Overall, the rankings provide a comprehensive look at the best AI art generators available on the internet, with Midjourney, Dali 2, Night Cafe Art Studio, and Leonardo.ai leading the pack.
