a whole year already since i first started this journey of drawing your OCs and sharing my process with you all. And what a year it has been! With the holiday season upon us, I can’t help but feel grateful for all of you who have stuck around and supported me throughout this entire year. Your feedback, encouragement, and creativity have truly made this experience worthwhile.

So, to show my appreciation, I decided to draw another one of your OCs, and the lucky winner this time is Ant Wolf’s character, Zap. I must say, I absolutely love the design of this character. The combination of yellow and teal colors, the unique white hair, and the overall aesthetic just speaks to me. In the caption, Ant Wolf mentions that this character doesn’t have a lot of personality yet, but I beg to differ. Just by looking at the reference sheet, the poses, and the beast form that Zap can transform into, I can already see a fleshed-out character with so much potential.

As I start sketching Zap, I can’t help but feel excited about bringing this character to life on the canvas. The process of capturing her likeness in the same pose as the reference photo is both challenging and rewarding. The changing lighting conditions due to the cloudy day only add another layer of complexity to the painting, but I embrace it as part of the creative process.

After about 10 minutes, the sketch is finally complete, and I am ready to dive into adding colors. I opt for color blocking using the lasso tool and paint bucket, locking the transparency of the layer to make the process smoother. The main colors of Zap being yellow and teal, I decide to incorporate some teal into the lining of her jacket to enhance the overall design. I also experiment with new brushes to add a more painterly texture to the painting, striving to give Zap the justice she deserves.

As I progress with the painting, adding details to Zap’s eyes, hair, and clothing, I find myself drawn to the character’s unique features. The yellow and teal colors mirror each other in various elements of Zap’s design, creating a cohesive and visually appealing look. I take some creative liberties with the character, adding dark eyeliner to enhance her appearance, even though it wasn’t present in the reference sheet.

Throughout the process, I can’t help but feel a connection to Zap and the creative energy she embodies. Ant Wolf, the artist behind this character, mentions not being very attached to Zap, but I find myself growing fond of her as I bring her to life on the canvas. I even jokingly consider asking Ant Wolf if I can adopt Zap as my own character, as I am truly captivated by her design and potential.

As the painting nears completion, with final details added and adjustments made to ensure Zap’s likeness is captured accurately, I can’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. The finished piece reflects the beauty and complexity of Zap’s character, thanks to the creative vision of Ant Wolf and the inspiration I drew from drawing your OCs.

In conclusion, I want to express my gratitude to all of you who have shared your OCs with me and supported me on this artistic journey. Drawing your characters has not only been a fun and rewarding experience but has also taught me valuable lessons about creativity, inspiration, and the power of community. I look forward to creating more videos like this in the future and continuing to explore the endless possibilities of character design.

With the holiday season upon us and a new year approaching, I want to wish you all a happy holiday season, a joyful new year, and a prosperous 2021. Thank you for being a part of this creative journey with me, and I hope to see you all back in the new year for more artistic adventures. Until then, take care, stay safe, and keep creating. Happy holidays, everyone!
