In the past two years, the rapid advances in AI have been both mind-blowing and deeply disconcerting. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any crazier, OpenAI revealed Sora, a text-to-video model that can create highly photorealistic videos up to a minute long. This new model has leapfrogged every available AI video generator by leaps and bounds.
The capabilities of Sora are truly remarkable. Some of the clips created are indistinguishable from real footage, even upon close inspection. Others depict compelling, yet unrealistic things like 3D animated characters and papercraft coral reefs. But as with any AI generator, there are still those glitchy moments, with shape-shifting and phasing in and out of existence, as well as some less-than-perfect simulations of human-like figures.
When compared to its closest competitor, Runway Gen 2, Sora outperforms it in every aspect, with the ability to create longer, more realistic videos and even seamlessly blend two videos together. The release of Sora has taken the AI world by storm, with many calling for ethical considerations and questioning the potential repercussions of such advanced technology.
In addition to Sora, Google also revealed a groundbreaking AI model called Gemini 1.5 Pro. This new model surpasses its predecessor, gp4, in many ways, with a context window of up to 1 million tokens, making it possible for the model to access and process a vast amount of data. Google’s new model was overshadowed by Sora’s announcement, but it is a significant advancement in the field of AI.
Meta, formerly known as Facebook, has also announced a new AI method called V-jeppa, an open-source method for teaching machines to understand and model the physical world by watching videos. This new development is yet another step towards the advancement of AI technology and its potential applications in various fields.
The rate at which AI technology is advancing is both exciting and alarming. On the one hand, these advancements have the potential to revolutionize industries, improve efficiency, and lead to groundbreaking discoveries. On the other hand, there are ethical and moral considerations to be taken into account, as well as potential negative consequences of such powerful technology falling into the wrong hands.
With all these developments in AI, it’s essential to stay informed and aware of the potential impacts of these advancements. It’s a fascinating time to be witnessing the rapid evolution of technology, and we can only wonder what the future holds for AI and its potential applications. As with any powerful tool, it’s crucial to use it responsibly and ethically to ensure that it benefits humanity as a whole.
The world of AI is a rapidly evolving landscape. With new developments being announced regularly, it’s an exciting time to be a part of this technological revolution. While these advancements hold immense potential for the future, it’s essential to consider the ethical and moral implications of such powerful technology and ensure that it is used responsibly and for the betterment of society as a whole. As we continue to witness the rapid evolution of AI, it’s important to stay informed and engaged with the latest developments in this exciting field. The future of AI is full of possibilities, and it’s up to us to ensure that it benefits humanity in the best way possible.
Getting closer to the point where an AI model will create an entire movie from scratch while it’s reading a book. Very scary to be honest.
Can We Text In The Rain?? Rain-Cloud.
Microsoft must prompt you with options to install alternative software to their own which were already available and free. Apple doesn't allow third party store fronts and will ban you if you circumvent their fees. Apple is as apple does – special treatment. They don't have a monopoly, do they? Only their special ecosystem they've been blocking competition from since forever.
Make sense from a video producing company define Sorea "horrifically". I mean… in 4 years might be completely destroy a lot of stock and small video segment industry…
I saw Sora announcement on my local tv news… And I’m not kidding, I said. “Now remake Bee Movie with Sora”
Oh man that beef cells in rice is such a bad idea. It sounds horribly expensive AND bad for you. Give me beef grown naturally, using a design made by the supreme perfect animal designer
Riley and Jakob play off each other so well. I love their segues into the sponsor spot and back into the Quick Bits.
Nah bro they stealin that rat ball!!!
Hello there Riley xD
Great now i can have beef with my rice that is rice 😂
🌟 Thank you for sharing this amazing video! 🌟 As someone passionate about cutting-edge technology, I couldn't help but be amazed by the revolutionary capabilities of SORA by OpenAI showcased here. If anyone interested in exploring more about SORA and its mind-blowing features, I invite you to check out my latest video on the topic.

BioTechnica be like:
"hey guys try out our new beef rice, its totally not wierd as fuc"
The thing I'm constantly asking my self is, why are they keep pursuing this AI shit? Why should we care about it? Why are we all looking and reacting to people developing what will ruin our lifes? Why are we entertained and horrified at the same time while doing nothing? There is people working actively at this, is not like this stuff is unavoidable. It's not a weapon russia or china is building to ruin our jobs/economy/creativity, it's US that are building it, and all for what?
It's sadly ironic that software AI that replaces art and creativity is apparently so rapid and easy to develop, but the useful AI-engineering synthesis that would automate the horrible dirty dangerous jobs is apparently completely impossible
i thought AI's purpose was to help humans do hard and repetetive tasks, not replace our human creativity by shitting out videos out of thin air
SAMA: That's it. If I can't raise $7tn, I will turn SORA into the new OF for financial compensation. You can't blame me on that.
Google AI sounds more inviting then Gemini
@4:50 I wonder if this psrt will still make us laugh when we revisit it in the future, if we'll still be able to laugh, or live or even if YouTube will still exist
Bros favorite new word is “disconcerting”…
Edge was stealing all of your Chrome tabs because they were storing their data in the same place after the update that caused the issue. If you uninstalled edge and an update reinstalled it. It just cloned all of your tabs because it's stored its data in the same place as Chrome did. Because it's Chrome with a window skin. People just like to hate on edge I guess.
'Like is any of this for for real or not?'
It’s coming for tech news 😮
AI is only as good as the modertaor castrating it from anything useful. I wouldnt hold my breath
Riley saying AI is deeply disconcerting felt like he was reading my mind since I just go here from a hitler AI song cover.
GIVE ME THE BEEF-RICE
The black market for AI multi-media content is going to be insane. Capitalism and inflation could be a catalyst for it.
TechLinked news videos, aka "Here's the latest horrifying dystopian things that are coming to make your life worse."
Whenever Riley stops hosting TechLinked, I'm unsubscribing!
beef rice next is pork Tomato or Chicken peppers tbh i like the idea
God, I hate all of this. Y'all do good work here, keep it up
WAIT! If you share your pointcloud data from your Quest it likely was used to teach Metas AI how to do things 😂
Wait… The video title changed? Interesting.
Lool imagine movies out of books
