Considering that AI robot fans have been seen in SoFi Stadium at Los Angeles Chargers this season, high profile fans like Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce have spent entire games with cameras glued to them, and the fact that the NFL literally told us this season was scripted, you can hardly blame fans for leaning into conspiracies.
Watch frightening AI robots scare everyone at an NFL game
When the internet erupted over this passionate Chargers fan during the Chargers-Cowboys showdown on Monday Night Football, the tin foil hats were not far behind. Armchair analysts broke down her body language, tallied her ESPN screentime and ruminated over the philosophical question of how someone could be that invested in the Los Angeles Chargers
The answer that many came to? She might have been one of those AI robots, planted by the NFL to generate hype around an otherwise disappointing Monday Night Football game.
Who is Merrianne Do, the viral Chargers fan from Monday Night Football?
Sadly for the conspiracy theorists, the viral Chargers fan is Merrianne Do, a very real person and frequent attendee of LA Chargers games.
According to a report on X from Leighton Glodek, Do is a longtime California resident who has worked as a pharmacist for Walgreens for over two decades. Her husband was the CMO for CoreVest Finance, giving her access to suite-level seats right in view of the cameras at SoFi Stadium.
NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero corroborated this information, posting on X that she and her husband are season ticket holders who rent cabana suites every season for multiple games. However, Pelissero did not confirm the fan’s identity.
