Warning: The Tech You Are About to See May Shock You

Introduction

If you’ve ever dragged your feet on carpet and then touched a piece of technology, you know that it can lead to a shocking experience. But what if I told you that NVIDIA’s frame generation and AMD’s rival fluid motion frame technology have been used simultaneously to achieve up to three times the performance compared to gaming at native resolution? South Korean tech outlet Quazar Zone’s team red and green working together to achieve this remarkable feat.

The Experiment

On December 1st, the Quazar Zone team observed a 3x boost in average frame rate in Cyberpunk 2077 at native 4K and ultra settings. Impressive uplifts were also seen in Call of Duty and Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart. To pull this off, the team plugged an RTX 490 and an RX 6600 into the same PC, installed both of their drivers, and hooked up the primary display to the 6600 while the 490 was set as the primary GPU in Windows. This setup allowed the 490’s post-frame gen output to pass through the 6600 and get its frames fluidly motioned.

The Results

While the average frame rate was impressive, the experiment also had its shortcomings. The feature of fluid motion frames is still in beta, meaning crashes may occur, and the feature deactivates during fast movement, leading to massive frame drops during motion. Additionally, both frame generating solutions can introduce visual artifacts and increase input lag. So, while the performance boost was significant, there are trade-offs to consider.

Tesla’s Cybertruck Event

Earlier this week, Elon Musk hosted Tesla’s Cybertruck delivery presentation, where 10 lucky customers got to drive away in the newly launched vehicle. Despite Musk promising it to be the biggest product launch of the year, many found the event to be cringe-worthy. With two versions of the Cybertruck currently available, priced higher than originally advertised, some enthusiasts are reconsidering buying the EV.

Rumored NVIDIA GPU

NVIDIA is rumored to be launching a new GPU in China called the RTX 490D. This version complies with U.S.-Chinese export policies, unlike the original RTX 490. The rumored changes in the GPU’s configuration suggest that its performance may be affected, particularly in terms of AI capabilities. It is also speculated that the RTX 490D will be comparable to the upcoming 4080 Super, rumored to come out in January of next year.

Quick Bits

Google’s Threat Analysis Group discovered vulnerabilities in Chrome and Apple’s WebKit that were actively exploited. Google patched seven Chrome vulnerabilities, while Apple patched flaws in WebKit that could allow hackers to access sensitive information. In other news, the ASUS ROG Ally now has gyroscope support and control customization options, making it a better gaming accessory.

Additionally, an AI-powered tool from Google DeepMind called GNOme has predicted recipes for new crystals with potential applications in superconductors, batteries, and computer chips. Scientists at Tufts University and Harvard have created self-assembling robots called anthrobots made of human trachea cells.

Conclusion

While the tech world is constantly evolving with exciting advancements, it’s essential to stay informed about the latest developments and trends. From experimental gaming setups to new AI technologies, the future of tech holds endless possibilities. Keep exploring and learning about the tech that surrounds us to make the most of these innovations.

  1. If I were Chinese, I would never have bought the USA technology again. Because everyone knows that D is not stand for the Dragon. In addition, China is already developing everything from hardware to software catching on to competition and possibly improve them and offer them for much affordable price. However, the US propaganda will frighten the world by claiming that China will use technology for espionage or warfare, as if the US has not been doing the same for years. A more accurate way to say this is that the US did not invent everything by itself. It benefited from the contributions of people from all over the world. The US just provided funding. Moreover, that money is robed from the rest of the world, so yeah the US own shit.

  2. Did you guys just choose to find something negative to say about the cybertruck? Or does the person behind the research suck at research, more positives coming about the car than the negatives. Stick to pc’s guys if you don’t want to cover the whole story.

  3. I used to run a GTX 970 ti and a RX 580 in one system with the RX 580 as the main card. having the GTX 980 ti installed would let me use Nvidia features such as Hairworks in the Witcher 3 and the PhysX stuff in Borderlands while running a mainly AMD/ATI system and the performance gains were quite notable my average FPS at 1080p High pre-sets in The Witcher was about 55 with both cards but only about 45 with just the RX 580.

  4. Can't we just use FSR 2 for this crap instead of experimenting with generated frames? Why don't we just go to the days when games were actually rendered every frame and just upscaled professionally. Who's with me 🙂

  5. You flat out lied about the CyberTruck and the event. Sure the ball pitch was cringe, but the most popular model "Dual motor" version got a rang increase of 40 miles. Thats besides all of the other specs getting a huge boost. Performance, rear wheel steering, drive by wire allowing F1 level of tight turning with minimal hand movement. Oh, and the fact it can operate as a giant generator.
Seeing over 300ft truck pull is not what I would call boring.

  6. Anyone that actually bought Musjs word on pricing and timeline on the Cybertruck, even back when our buddies were tossing $100 down those trucks, must have been high.

  7. Google drove me though someone farmer's service road once. I wasn't the only one since there were track around the giant mudpit I had to follow to get though.

  8. in all fairness the cybertruck was supposed to launch before covid and crazy inflation and wars… so you guys are starting to sound like the rabid anti elon people

  9. Reminds me of that time google maps told me to take my car down a dirt road because it was 5mins faster. I used my tactical common sense and continued on the highway instead of listening to it.

  10. only people the restriction effects is gamers since goverments can just buy from some other country that got those 4090's even with the premium price

  11. And our significant others say us tech/engineer geeks are not romantic. This story is the perfect "When rivals become lovers" story our non-tech spouses will never understand
