You don’t need your family to play Pictionary this Christmas

Twister and Pictionary can now be played solo after the family games were given an artificial intelligence overhaul in time for Christmas.

In the revamped Pictionary vs AI and Twister Air, players are able to pit themselves solo against the machine rather than family and friends.

For Pictionary vs AI, retailing at £23.99, instead of players having to guess what each other has drawn before the timer runs out, the work is now done by artificial intelligence software which scans the picture against an online database of images.

Players then bet whether the software guessed the picture correctly or incorrectly, winning points if their prediction is accurate. Rude images or words are not recognised.

In Twister Air, retailing at £24.99, players or indeed a single player, have to download an app on to their smartphone or tablet before attaching coloured motion sensor bands to their wrists and ankles.

The players must then shake their arms and legs to match the coloured spots on screen.

Paul Reader, chairman of the DreamToys select committee, said parents can expect more toys fitted with AI technology in the coming years.
