Abilities Multiply with OpenAI’s New Product Dali Free

Introduction

OpenAI has just announced their latest product, Dali Free, which will be included in the Chat GPT Plus subscription starting in early October. This release marks a significant advancement in multimodal language models and promises to be more user-friendly than any previous offerings from OpenAI. This article will delve into the features of Dali Free, why it stands out from its predecessors, and what it means for the future of AI technology.

Enhanced Image Generation

One of the standout features of Dali Free is its image generation capabilities, which are on par with MidJourney, OpenAI’s previous model known for its artistic outputs. Dali Free not only produces high-quality images but also introduces the ability to generate text descriptions, a feature that was lacking in MidJourney. Additionally, Dali Free excels in creating consistent characters, making it easier to generate stories with coherent visuals.

Improved User Friendliness

Another key aspect of Dali Free is its focus on user-friendliness. The inclusion of a prompt generator allows users to input natural language prompts, eliminating the need for intricate keyword crafting to achieve desired results. This shift towards more intuitive interaction with AI models marks a significant step forward in democratizing AI artistry and making it accessible to a wider audience.

Future Directions in AI Technology

With the introduction of Dali Free and its seamless integration into Chat GPT Plus, we are witnessing a clear trajectory towards multimodal AI models. The combination of text and image generation capabilities opens up a wealth of possibilities for various industries, from creating children’s books to automating data analysis and report generation.

As AI technology continues to evolve and become more user-friendly, we can expect to see a widespread adoption of these tools in everyday life. The shift towards multimodal AI will not only revolutionize the way we interact with technology but also transform how we approach tasks that require creativity, data analysis, and communication.

Conclusion

OpenAI’s Dali Free represents a major advancement in AI technology, offering enhanced image generation capabilities and a user-friendly interface. The inclusion of a prompt generator streamlines the process of interacting with AI models, making them more accessible to a broader audience. As we move towards a future where multimodal AI models are the norm, we can expect to see a significant impact on various industries and daily tasks. Dali Free is just the beginning of a new era in AI technology, and the possibilities it opens up are truly exciting.

  1. I love your videos, and I am eager to see more because your knowledge and advice are, for me, acting as a reference. And I love the fact that you are agnostic and love to discover all that the field has to offer, unlike me, who has a strong preference (or who lacks the VPN access to Bard or such). Your unbiased opinion matters a lot to me. 😅😅😅😅

  2. Dalle2 was much, much better than Dalle3 is! Anime animal characters now often look just like human characters, which is silly. Plus, it's much more censored and restricted again, just like Dalle2 was at the beginning. I hope Bing or Dalle3 itself will raise the quality of the output again. Is there a way to generate Dalle2-based pictures again, for free? Anyone knows?

  3. I don't see that there is any indication of true character consistency. Maybe dall-e generates similar looking character when we are talking about the chat gpt prompting it in the background and a hedgehog drawing but I bet you anything that if you tried the same with a human character, you would get all kinds of inconsistencies just like MJ. Why did you assume that characters would be consistent?

  4. Great video, as always! I do however feel that I need a sanity check: Larry the hedgehog is most certainly not consistent, right? The eyes keep changing, the sunflower is sometimes around his neck, sometimes there are multiple smaller sunflowers on his back and the texture of the spines is also different. I keep hearing people talk about the consistency of Dalle-E 3 and it seems that I am missing something.

  5. This is my question – With Dall E 3 just announced, let's say I'm wanting to make children's picture books which I can do more easily, but then have to declare the AI generated overs – couldn't amazon just at any moment pull all the AI generated books off their libraries – or maybe some new law comes in around this so how to decide of speed/convenience of creation but the threat of the books being pulled?

  7. How can you say with certainty….that ChatGPT's integration of DALL-E 3 "it's actually objectively better than Midjourney"? And BTW, ChatGPT and DALL-E 3 are not even out until October, so how can can actual hold a straight face and objectively say that ChatGPT/DALL-E 3 is be better that Midjourney? Currently, DALL-E 3 does NOT even come close to the image generation of Midjourney, unless you like generating clip art and cute teenage cartoons…than DALL-E 3 is for you! Are you just parroting recent OpenAI/ChatGPT/DALLE press releases? There is "zero evidence" that DALL-E 3 will be better than Midjourney. And lastly, DALL-E 3 does NOT even come close to the image generation of Midjourney.

  8. have you addressed the dumbing down of 3.5 and even 4 though? whys it struggling to do basics that it used to be fine with.. even non-restrictive mediums like just coding questions etc.. sure, they went overkill on copyright paranoia etc but //your code here.. constantly is not helpful when it loses its way and you have to keep dumping the code back in to keep it ontrack

  9. 0:58 – Basically it's way better than MJ if you compare their ability to follow complex prompts through and the reliability and accuracy of it and on top of all Dalle 3 is also looking as amazing as MJ but it is much more capable, it's just a bummer that they probably won't let people use their OpenAI free kredits to use Dalle 3 for free, are they going to let people use it with their free accumulated kredits on their OpenAI site?

  10. I think (and hope) the open source community will also soon be able, to merge language models and image generators: Locally, free and uncensored….
